Today we finished filming our paperprototypes, and im very pleased with our games layout.

today in globaloria we started our paper prototypes, we are doing our game on the effects of pollution instead of drugs, we have finished most of the prototype, but we are going to put the final touches on it monday.

today we got into our groups and watched a video about paper prototyping and started working on our own, we haven't got much down on paper but we have a general idea about what we are going to do. our game is going to be about drug abuse and how it effects your day to day tasks.

globaloria game ideas

in globaloria we have been assigned to come up with ideas for an educational video game, so far we have no good ideas but we are working on it.

Mondays.

Sooo, i have officially come to the conclusion that Mondays are terrible. Simply terrible. The gaming in Globaloria isn't going too quickly, we're being battered with the onslaught of valued peers missing school because of their immunal battle with the H1N1 virus. While spending some of my free time researching this illness, i discovered a great inspiration for an amazing game. what could be better than a swine flu game? Anyhow, homework calls, so i'll have to update on this brilliant idea in the near future :)

i love wvu with all of my heart! virginia tech is awful, and to show my loyalty to wvu i will be burning my blasphemous sweatshirt. WVU forever!!!!

today in globaloria we were placed into teams in hopes of generating different ideas for games, so far we have decided on a game that raises awareness of the importance of recycling.

we are now learning to create our own characters in globaloria instead of using the default characters

i finally finished my flash game in globaloria, it's very complicated but i think i got it all down, i have recently been trying to make the wolf character follow the bunny but no luck so far, hopefully within the next couple of days i will work out all the kinks.

Fall!

So, since fall officially began on the twenty-second of September, I have been ecstatic. There are so many fun things to do in fall! First Friday in October is amazing, as it is cold enough to legalize buying coffee and hot chocolate. Also, the leaves are simply beautiful. This central theme of fall ties into Globaloria because I have been playing millions of games set in autumn, such as : Autumn Dress Up games, Catch the Leaves, and Pumpkin Pickers. These games really make me appreciate the months preceding winter, and make me excited for the holidays to come.

3rd World Farmer is very thought provoking, it makes you think about how some people in the world live their lives. However, if I honestly wanted to learn about 3rd world farmers or any other educational fact I would watch the discovery channel rather than play video games. So, overall this is a very good game to play educational wise, but a very bad game to play for fun.
